This is without a doubt one of our favorite weddings of the year. Darby and Rod had their lovely wedding at the La Valencia Hotel, a historical landmark full of timeless and classic charm. Grey, silver, white and ivory were the central colors for this vintage inspired, yet fresh and clean soiree. We’re absolutely enamoured with her flowing dress, which perfectly echo the waterfall of chiffon that drape the canopy. White hydrangea, vendela roses, and cascading phalaenopsis lined the front, while crystals and leis adorned the back. Darby walked down the romantic path of rose petals holding a fragrant bouquet wrapped in vintage lace and embellished with an antique brooch. The reception: Guest were greeted to the Veranda room with a large manzanita tree dripping with orchids and leis and nestled in a pave of garden roses. This checkered floor room went so well with the timeless appeal of this wedding. We draped the awning in white flowing fabric to give it a luxurious billowing effect. The look isn’t complete without the chandeliers decorated with flowers and crystals. Each of the tables had silver candelabras topped a romantic cascade of white and ivory blooms. Surrounding each of these Victorian arrangements were vintage mercury glasses with floating candles, that went lit, gave a dreamy glow as the guest celebrated the rest of the evening. Silver linens and chiavari chairs further tied in the grey theme. Despite the downpour of rain on that day, the wedding couldn’t have run a smoothly as it did without the direction of Catherine of CBS Weddings. Darin Fong never ceases to produce beautiful photos. Thanks Darin!
